Praxis has strengthened its leadership team in Asia with the appointment of Tom Zierer as Senior Executive Director and the promotion of Cindy Cheng to Regional Head of Growth and Business Development Asia, according to announcement.
The move is aimed at deepening its support for family offices, international families, and corporate clients navigating increasingly complex cross-border structuring and governance needs.
The appointments underscore a broader trend in Asia’s private wealth industry, where family offices are seeking more sophisticated advice on succession planning, governance, asset protection and multi-jurisdiction structures as wealth becomes more international and families spread assets and interests across markets.
Zierer, who relocated from Guernsey to Hong Kong in 2025, joined Praxis in 2013 and has advised clients on succession planning, governance and long-term wealth preservation.
In his new role, he will lead a team of 14 multilingual specialists in Hong Kong and work closely with colleagues in the British Virgin Islands, the Middle East and the Channel Islands to provide coordinated solutions across jurisdictions.
“Asia continues to play a central role in the global wealth landscape. Families here are increasingly international in outlook, with complex cross-border considerations,” Zierer said.
Alongside his appointment, Cheng has been promoted to Regional Head of Growth and Business Development Asia.
Based in Hong Kong, she will lead the firm’s growth strategy across the region, with a focus on strengthening intermediary relationships and coordinating client engagement across Asia and Praxis’ broader international network.
“My focus is on building strong, trusted relationships across the region and ensuring clients and intermediaries can access the full breadth of our global expertise in a coordinated and effective way,” Cheng said.
The moves reinforce Praxis’ on-the-ground leadership in Hong Kong, where it has supported private wealth structures since 2007, and reflect the city’s continued importance as a base for family offices and globally connected wealth planning in Asia.
Chief Executive Officer Robert Fearis said clients are increasingly looking for structures that provide “stability, strong governance and long-term certainty,” adding that the strengthened Hong Kong team would improve Praxis’ ability to serve clients consistently across jurisdictions.
